Filmed by director Deborah Samuel at the Masonic Temple (now MTV headquarters in Toronto) after 18 hours and 12 takes of live performance on Alannah's only day off in 8 months with an overnight tour bus drive to perform at New York's Bottom Line the next day without so much as a tuna sandwhich for dinner! Released as a single to AOR (rock radio) only in Canada and USA, helping it to chart top 40 in album sales on Billboard and Rolling Stone. Special thanks to Canada's Queen of Soul, Jackie Richardson for her vocal accompaniment!

Despite criticism from Scottish director Don Black, suggesting Alannah's emotionally raw performance was a "temper tantrum", Song was penned by renown Canadian poet, Robert Priest, Alannah and her collaborator, Nancy Simmonds on the south east Atlantic coast of Barbadoes. Shot in LA's Capitol Studios, it was the first single released from Alannah's second Rockinghorse record, selling in excess of 2 million cds, remaining at #1 in several countries up to 4 weeks. Unseen in the USA, it won Alannah a Grammy nomination for best rock vocalist and was inarguably the poorest lead off choice after the phenomenal global success of Black Velvet. Released on Atlantic Records.

Directed by Deborah Samuel. Filmed in the Burren of County Clare, off the east, Atlantic coast of Ireland. Lip synch for track was sped up 3 times faster to accommodate the video's dreamy effect which, when slowed to normal speed was further affected by a tropical storm of 90 mph gale force winds, threatening to blow Miss Myles off the ocean cliffs. Due to storm warnings an attempt to cancel the shoot for insurance purposes was ignored. Released by Atlantic Records.
